Think about your ideal trip through Europe for a second. You’re probably imagining walking through the cute side streets of London, taking Instagram pics at the Eiffel Tower in Paris, going through plate after plate of carbs in Italy, taking in the sights in Amsterdam, or partying through the night in Berlin. But what if I told you a little secret – there’s a European city you probably haven’t thought about visiting where you can do all of those things and more. 😏

But I guess the title already gave that secret away, huh? πŸ˜’ Well yeah, I’m talking about Budapest! With over 20% of Hungary’s population living in Budapest, it’s definitely one of the major cities in Europe. But when if you were to ask the typical person where they want to visit on the continent, this cultural gem is usually low down on the list. Let’s change that with this article!

My absolute favourite way to explore a new city is to just walk around and get lost for a bit. Yeah, I literally mean to get lost! That’s when you really learn about the place you’re exploring and get to know its vibe. When my boyfriend and I started walking around Budapest, the city almost felt more along the lines of a town in Italy than what you would expect out of Hungary. TBH, I half-expected Budapest to look much more like an old Soviet city or like other cities you would find in Eastern Europe. But after a walk around some of the tiny streets and some stops in speciality (and VERY trendy πŸ€“) coffee shops, we quickly learned that’s not the case at all.

So you can probably tell that I automatically fell in love with this city – super cute streets and tons of coffee shops with the most Instagrammable of interiors. What more could you want!? 😍

Right, but of course, we were a bit tired from our early plane ride, so we decided to take a pitstop in one of our hotels for the weekend – Hotel Moments. You guys should know by now that when I travel, I need a place where I can re-charge after a day of exploring. A boy needs his beauty sleep, alright? 😴

And for two night out of our trip to Budapest, Hotel Moments was our home away from home. There’s really nothing bad that I can say about this four-star palace – the architecture is STUNNING, the service was on-point, that bed was oh so comfy, and don’t even get me started on that breakfast spread 🀀. On top of all that, there’s free coffee, tea, and small snacks literally whenever you want to get some down in the lobby. LITERALLY HEAVEN, Y’ALL!

Check out some more impressions from the hotel down below. If you’re ever in Budapest, give them a shout and you’ll have an amazing place to stay!

On our first day in Budapest, we decided to go around and see all of the touristy spots. I don’t know about you guys, but I really like to get most of the touristy sight-seeing done ASAP. That way, I can spend the rest of the time doing my own discovering. So, that’s exactly what we did! We went ’round to St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the Hungarian Parliament building (3rd largest in the world! 😧), checked out the INCREDIBLE views on the river, and walked up to Fisherman’s Bastille to catch the sunset. Check below for some of what we explored:

All in all, you need to get your butt to Budapest. It’s an absolutely incredible city that’s rich in history, culture, fun times, and great people. Next blog post about Budapest coming up soon, so keep an eye out!
